Texas Health Resources Surgical Tech in Allen, Texas
Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Allen is seeking a Surgical Technologist to work full time.
Minimum Education Required: Graduate of an accredited surgical tech program or completion of a military training program in surgical technology or an LVN.
Licensure/Certifications Required: If a graduate of an accredited surgical tech program requires a CST upon hire. A graduate or completion of a military training program in surgical technology requires a CST within two years of hire date. LVN requires an LVN upon hire. AHA BCLS upon hire.
Minimum skills Required: a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, ability to function in a fast paced environment.
Work Hours/Schedule: 40 hours/1st shift with rotating call schedules.
Nursing Process: Assists in providing per-operative care for a patient population. Peri-operatively assists RN circulator in formulating plan of care.
Assists as needed in coordinating patient care peri-operatively and assumes responsibility and accountability for behavior in order to maintain standards for professional nursing practice. Follows proper procedures for care of instruments, supplies and equipment, Assists RN with pos-operative duties.
Assists in delivering nursing care in a manner that minimizes the risk of infection and accidental contamination.
Assists in delivering care in a manner which protects the patient from injury.
Care is provided with an emphasis on continually improving quality, service and cost effectiveness.
