Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas is seeking a Registered Vascular Cardiac Sonographer in the Non-Invasive Lab Department
Required minimum education: High School or Equivalent. Preferred Associates Degree or graduate of accredited school of ultrasound technology.
Required minimum experience: 1 year preferred. Echocardiograms experience.
Required license/certification: Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) via ARDMS www.ardms.org or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) via CCI www.cci-online.org and BLS
Required skills (if applicable): Perform vascular testing: Carotid Artery Duplex,Arterial and Venous Duplex, ABI.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, self directed and independent. Computer skills.
Job reports to (title of the position): Supervisor Vascular Lab, Director Non Invasive Cardiology

Part-time : 24 hours per week
Variable shifts, including deep nights, weekends, holidays and Call-back required.
JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Works in partnership with patients, families, coworkers, and physicians to enhance the costumer journey in delivery of exceptional coordinated care.
*Identifies self and department when greeting patient and family and when answering the phone.
*Explains exam to patients and family.
*Initiates actions to meet patient and/or significant others needs.
*Uses age specific criteria, takes into consideration developmental limitations and language barriers.
*Appropriately responds to scheduling calls and requests of clinical staff.
*Ensures correct information is received by the appropriate personnel while providing
efficient, professional and prompt customer service.
*Ensures smooth operation and maintains professional image of the department.
*Creates a safe work environment.
*Produces quality echocardiogram and vascular exams following department policies and procedures and IAC standards.
*Employs relevant guidelines set forth by ASE, SDMS and SVU, including scope of practice.
*Recognizes normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology relevant to adult echocardiography.
*Adult echocardiography includes, but not limited to trans thoracic echocardiogram (TTE), transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE) stress echocardiogram (treadmill and pharmacological) and echocardiogram with contrast.
*Adheres to hospital standards for infection control, for patient, self and equipment.
*Uses proper hand hygiene, two patient identifiers and time out.
*Obtain accurate patient history.
*Completes all work in a timely manner.
*Conveys appropriate, relevant information to physicians and other health care providers.
*Proficient knowledge and use of EMR (electronic medical records) and imaging PACS, including reporting software.
*Troubleshoots and properly documents equipment malfunction to ensure timely repairs and patient safety.
*Maintain procedure room readiness, with supplies and neatness.
*Follow quality control/quality assurance guidelines and participates in documentation.
*Carries out assignments with appropriate level of independence and requests assistance as
*Participates fully in patient care activities and all testing modalities
*Participates in healthy dialogue with physicians and staff to promote safe, individualized patient care practices
*Understands the value of teamwork and team building and applies these principles
*Utilizes chain of command and communicates any concerns
