Qualifications/Duties:

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• Graduate of an accredited/approved school of Rad technology

• 0- 6 months in CT, Prefer experience in hospital setting

• ARRT (R, CT),TMB, CPR

• This position performs all diagnostic exams ordered at Clearfork, heavy surgical load

Work Hours/Schedule: M-F, 9:30A-7P (Dependent on Surgery Schedule)

PATIENT CARE

  1. Uses multidisciplinary, team oriented actions

  2. Assesses and recognizes the patient’s emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive and psychosocial conditions

  3. Prepares room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies)

  4. Checks physician orders and exam requisitions

  5. Greets and acknowledges patient, using two forms of ID

  6. Obtain patient history and ensure female patients aged 12-50 complete pregnancy question form

  7. Appropriately handles patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes or other devices

  8. Demonstrates knowledge of emergency drugs and equipment

  9. Uses proper body mechanics when assisting patient

  10. Processes patient information, displays proper phone etiquette and transports patients as needed

  11. Safely administers contrast media and other medication in accordance with medication administration guidelines

IMAGING PROCEDURES, QUALITY AND PROCESSING

  1. Explains procedures to patient or guardian / family member if applicable prior to exam

  2. Position patient to correct anatomical area of interest

  3. Performs complex radiographic and computed tomography procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations

  4. Adjusts technique and protocol parameters appropriately for age related and body habitus factors

  5. Assists radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique

  6. Maintain attention to details and quality control

  7. Processes and manipulates images

  8. Analyzes image quality and technique adjustments and has the ability to verbalize trouble shooting techniques

  9. Performs portable radiographic and c-arm exams in various areas of the hospital

  10. Provides after hours call support for radiology and/or CT

  11. Prints laser images from modality or copies films/CD
