Certified Surgical Tech, Labor & Delivery

Our close-knit Labor & Delivery unit is looking for an experienced CST to join our team!

Work location: Texas Health Allen, 1105 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas, 75013

Work hours: PRN, 8:30am – 7:00pm

Labor & Delivery Department highlights:

  • Level II Maternal Designation with a Level III NICU

  • 8 LDRPs, 5 Antepartum rooms, 2 ORs – LDRP Model

  • 40 – 50 deliveries per month and GROWIN

  • A small unit with BIG teamwork

Here’s What You Need

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent and was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility before September 1, 2009 required OR

  • Other Graduate of an accredited surgery technology program, Vocational Nurse Program or graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology upon hire required OR

  • Other Graduate of an accredited surgery technology program, Vocational Nurse Program or graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology upon hire preferred

What You Will Do

  • Assist in providing peri-operative care for a patient population that includes Infants, Pediatrics, Adults, and Geriatrics

  • Preoperatively assist R.N. circulator in formulating plan of care

  • Assist as needed in coordinating patient care peri-operatively and assume responsibility and accountability for behavior in order to maintain standards for professional nursing practice

  • Post-operatively follow proper procedures for care of instruments, supplies and equipment. Under supervision, assist RN circulator with post-operative duties

  • ssiss in the delivering of nursing care in a manner that minimizes the risk of transfer of infection and accidental contamination.
