Exercise Physiologist
Fast-paced, high volume Cardiac Rehab department is looking for top skilled Exercise Physiologist. Is that you?
Work location: Texas Health Allen 1105 Central Expwy North, Allen, TX 75013
Work hours: PRN/As needed, Monday – Friday, Day shifts

Here’s What You Need
Bachelor's Degree Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, or related field required
3 months experience in cardiac rehab strongly preferred
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required and
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days required and
CCES - Certified Clinical Exercise Specialist Upon Hire preferred or
RCEP - Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist Upon Hire preferred
Must possess knowledge of respective clinical area to include equipment used, infection control, criteria of standard precautions, national patient safety goals and all other skills related to patient care delivery.
Flexible with timings and availability as needed to meet department needs strongly preferred
What You Will Do
Clinical Practice:
Assess patient health risks, needs, and interests.
Assist RN with patient assessment on admission to the program and assist with the development of comprehensive individualized exercise program.
Conducts fitness evaluations in accordance with department guidelines.
Develops exercise prescriptions/programs tailored to the unique needs and interests of the client and in accordance with department guidelines.
Provides instruction necessary for the safe and effective performance of exercise activities, and promotion of secondary prevention to individuals who are limited by cardiac disease to improve functional capacity and lower cardiovascular risk factors.
Demonstrates competence in the performance of age-appropriate patient treatment and individualizes care based on age specific needs.
Competent in the use of ScottCare telemetry, obtaining accurate HR, BP, RR, and cardiac rhythm.
Demonstrates proficiency in the setup and operation of all monitoring and exercise equipment.
Plans, implements, evaluates documents patient education.Completes all documentation and written communication in a timely manner.
Accountability:
Completes shift assignments for equipment maintenance, and all other tasks related to maintaining a safe and clean environment.
Seeks assistance/ supervision/ consultation as needed and reports to supervisor any problems and/or solutions regarding delivery of services.
Works in partnership with peers, other disciplines, and department personnel.
Notifies physicians in a timely manner of problems of pertinent complication.
Administrative:
Provides administrative support as needed, including but not limited to assisting patients with registration for cardiac rehab, receiving phone calls, providing information on cardiac rehab services, scheduling appointments, organizing charts, etc.
Maintain customers rights (confidentiality, privacy, safety, security, and decision making).
Proficient in correct billing, charging and procedure documentation.
Routinely obtain department/hospital communication via email
Documents according to department guidelines.
Documents all required data for Cardiac Rehab members according to department guidelines
Documents all unusual occurrences to system, hospital, and department guidelines.
Assists with quality control procedures.
Professionalism:
Participates in strategies to meet business initiatives and unit/team, program, and department specific goals and targets.
Attends in-services, department meetings, and other training sessions relative to job.
Is knowledgeable of and adheres to hospital and department procedures and policies.
