Assistant Mammographer SVC

  • Salary range is Min. $13.94/hr to Max. $21.58/hr – based on relevant experience

Position Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

Accurately maintains Mammography Database:

• Provide accurate data for reporting, coding and billing purposes.

• Updates patient information from patient history sheets including: surgical history, hormonal history, family history,

address and referring physician changes.

• Ensures timely communication of results to patients and physicians.

• In accordance with MQSA guidelines generates letters for both patients and physicians in the appropriate format as


Tracking patient follow up care per FDA guidelines:

• Contacts patients and/or physicians to follow up all biopsy and surgical procedures.

• Enters all known Pathology results.

Ensures coordination of care:

• Maintains communication with patient and physicians regarding mammography requirements for all BIRAD categories.

• Sends out patient reminders timely with appropriate recall dates and procedures.

• Communicate efficiently with physicians and physician staff to ensure timely treatment of patients.

• Provide accurate work list of patient exams or procedures to be done by technical or medical staff.

• Obtaining and documenting receipt of patient orders for diagnostic imaging from referring physicians.

Maintains Mammography Filing system:

• Make available all charts, including outside films, needed for each day's breast procedure schedule or indicates why a chart

is unavailable, as appropriate.

• Research all breast procedure patients for outside film and retrieval, as appropriate.

• Audit films in holding area on a weekly basis and follows up with the appropriate action.

• Logs in outside patient films as received.

• Coordinates the prepping of images for all appropriate patients' on a daily basis

• Coordinate the hanging of analog and digital images for all appropriate patients on a daily basis for comparison and

interpretation by the radiologists.

• Ensure quality patient care by coordinating the transfer of necessary paperwork to the Transcription Dept., document

imaging staff and nursing staff on a daily basis.
