Behavioral Health Assessor-Full-Time

Position Highlights:

  • Location: This team typically works remotely, from corporate or in our BH hospital entities, but will require 50%-70% travel throughout the DFW metroplex. This particular role will be working in the Seay Center lobby in Plano, TX.

  • Pay: This position has a salary range of $27.95-$43.68 based on relevant experience

  • Hours: 40 hours weekly, working the evening shift (M-F 12:30pm-9:00pm)

  • Master's Degree in a Mental health related field is required

  • 2 years related experience is required

  • Experience working in a Behavioral Health Hospital highly preferred

  • Experience with Behavioral Health Intake/Assessments highly preferred

Licenses and Certifications:

  • LPC - Licensed Professional Counselor is required upon hire or

  • LPC–I – Licensed Professional Counselor Intern upon hire or

  • LMFT – Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist is required upon hire or

  • LMSW – Licensed Master Social Worker upon hire or

  • LCSW - Licensed Clinical Social Worker is required upon hire and

  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training is required upon hire and

  • ACPI - Advanced Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually 6 Months or

  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training 30 Days and

  • ACPI - Advanced Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually 12 Months

Skills and Abilities:

  • Behavioral health Pre-admission screening and assessment; DSM diagnostic criteria

Job Description:

The purpose of this position is to complete preadmission screening and referral services for behavioral health patients, including psychiatric and chemically dependent patients. You will be required to obtain detailed history and document thoroughly. You will also be asked to formulate provisional DSM diagnosis and establish patient rapport and trusts.

Other duties of the mobile assessor include:

  • Obtains appropriate consents.

  • Educates patient/family regarding process.

  • Works under orders of attending or emergency department physician.

  • Knowledge of data elements required to assess all age groups excluding neonates.

  • Uses assessment tools including but not limited to video and phone assessment tools.

  • Understands and complies with all regulations including but not limited to TDMHMR, TDH, CMS, EMTALA, and Texas Behavioral Health Marketing Act.

The team also responds to consumer facing engagement platforms and will interact directly with consumers via phone and text chat through a secure digital platform.
