CCDI Quality & Education Supervisor

Work location: Remote
Work hours: Monday through Friday, generally 8:00 am to 4:30 pm but some flexibility on hours

Here’s What You Need
Education
Bachelor's Degree Nursing 2 Years CDI or Coding experience preferred or
Bachelor's Degree Health Information Management or healthcare related field 2 Years preferred or
Associate's Degree Nursing, HIM, or healthcare related field 4 Years CDI or Coding REQUIRED or
H.S. Diploma or Equivalent 6 Years Years of relevant experience can be substituted in lieu of degree REQUIRED
Experience
5 Years CDI, ICD-10-CM/PCS coding, or combined experience REQUIRED and
1 Year Outpatient CPT coding or outpatient CDI experience preferred and
1 Year EHR and CAC experience (Epic, Optum etc...) preferred and
1 Year Experience with coding audits and reviews REQUIRED
Licenses and Certifications
RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire REQUIRED or
RHIA - Registered Health Information Administrator Upon Hire REQUIRED or
RHIT - Registered Health Information Technician Upon Hire REQUIRED and
CCS - Certified Coding Specialist 6 Months REQUIRED or
Other CCDS 6 Months REQUIRED or
Other CDIP 6 Months REQUIRED
Other CCDS-O Upon Hire preferred or
Other COC Upon Hire preferred
Skills
Thorough knowledge of ICD 10-CM, PCS and/or PCT. Knowledgeable in APC and/or DRG methodologies and all regulatory/payor requirements associated with coding. Advanced knowledge of coding guidelines, coding clinics and coding conventions preferred. Extensive knowledge of complex disease processes with broad clinical and coding experience in an inpatient setting required. Additional outpatient coding experience preferred. Advanced Clinical or coding expertise preferred.
Ability to analyze, produce and present high level analysis and metrics required.
Proficient computer skills to include all components of Microsoft Office suite required. Ability to coordinate projects required. Research skills preferred. Demonstrated competency in teaching/learning process. Demonstrates strong decision making and problem-solving skills and ability to lead team. Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor is required.
