Texas Health Resources Chaplain Resident in Arlington, Texas


Texas Health Resources is seeking Chaplain Residents to support the Pastoral Care departments at various entities throughout the THR network of hospital entities.

Program duration:

Hire Date - September 24th, 2018

End Date - September 27th, 2019


Hospital entity will be assigned accordingly upon hire


Variable schedules may include evenings, weekends, overnight, and holidays as required by some entities


Bachelor's Degree required


Master's Degree in Divinity or related degree from an accredited theological school is required or must be in progress.


One unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) required

Licenses/Certifications: None

Skills and Abilities:

Graduate School proficiency in written and verbal English.

Relational skills sufficient to work effectively as a member of the department and the health care team; relate to community clergy.

Must be able to work appropriately with highly stressed persons in both crisis and chronic situations.

Must demonstrate openness and ability to learn about ministry and self.

Job Duties:

Provide pastoral and spiritual care to patients, employees, families, and volunteers in keeping with departmental standards.

Provides direct Spiritual/Pastoral Care to patients and families.

Participates in and engages the Clinical Pastoral Education program and curriculum.

Develop internal and external relationships and complete continuing education requirements in the delivery of pastoral and spiritual care within the system.

Assure the timely reporting of pastoral and spiritual care in keeping departmental standards.

Maintain an active relationship with one's own denomination.
