Director Product Development Design

The Product Development Design Director is a key part of the team responsible for introducing Texas Health products (including wearables, IoMT, proprietary products and partnership products) that further business goals and drive value within the organization. From defining initial product strategy through roll-out, this newly created position offers an opportunity to help introduce both consumer and internal products, work across business units to ensure conceptual and design integrity and evolve design and UX methods.

Position Highlights:

  • Work location: Dallas, TX

  • Department: Consumer Product Services Development

  • Work hours: Full Time (40 Hours); Day Shift; Monday – Friday, 08:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Responsibilities:

Execute a combination of design leadership with hands-on creation and refinement for both existing products and new, category-defining products and services

Partner with clinical, operational and administrative stakeholders within the organization to identify the priority and lead the development of products and solutions.

Lead end-to-end product and design initiatives, including scope definition, research activities, product design, pilot and post-launch survey activities across product development phases and roll-out

Introduce “design lens” thinking to elevate product integrity while leading cross-functional teams

Define, refine and institute consistent methodologies, processes, work tools and deliverables; lead and moderate multi-team workshops; develop workshop materials

Manage and mentor others within the Product Team and identify key opportunities to expand the Product Team and its capabilities

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Design, Design Studies, Design Methods, Service Design, or related field is required, and, Master's Degree in Design, Design Studies, Design Methods, Service Design, or related field.

Experience

15 years within a service design, product design or digital agency setting with an emphasis on cross-team/cross-unit collaboration to deliver measurable outcomes required.

Developed presentations and present findings to leadership and stakeholders via excellent presentation and moderation skills required.

A background in healthcare (preferred) or other highly regulated, complex industry products is preferred.

Skills

Developed domain expertise (competitive landscape, partnership or acquisition opportunities, etc.)

Performed and led qualitative and quantitative research and synthesized findings

Familiarity with rapid prototyping methods (quick sketching to functional prototypes)
