Texas Health Arlington Memorial is hosting an Interview Day on Wednesday July 25th, 2018!
INTERVIEWS MUST BE SCHEDULED IN ADVANCE AND CANDIDATE MUST HAVE COMPLETED AN ONLINE APPLICATION AND PHONE QUESTIONNAIRE PRIOR TO INTERVIEW DAY.
*Interviews will be conducted throughout the day from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
*Interviews and hiring decisions are based on those that meet all required qualifications and criteria.
*The interview process may include completion of new hire onboarding forms and completion of employee health post offer assessment scheduling.
*Required documentation - Must be able to provide work authorization documents for Form I-9, original documents only, copies not accepted. Please also bring information for direct deposit/voided check and vehicle information - year, make, model, and license plate number. Vaccination Record and/or information will be required at the time of employee health screening.
Please plan on spending 3-4 hours at Texas Health Arlington Memorial if selected for this event.
Hiring a Cook I For:
Full Time - 40 Hours
6:00 am - 2:30 pm, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm or 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Rotating weekends and holidays
Must be available for all shifts
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION:
H.S. Diploma or Equivalent. Contingent upon enrollment in High School or GED program with the
requirement to graduate from the program within 1 year of hire.
REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
1-year relevant experience in high volume restaurant, hospital, or Institution.
FHC - Food Handlers Certificate within 30 days of hire.
*Reading, basic math, written language in English
Ability to meet time standards required by production schedule.
Extensive knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Ability to exercise independent judgment.
Demonstrate initiative in assuming responsibilities.
Must be cooperative, discreet and courteous in handling visitors and employees.
*Organizes work/area for maximum production, accurately follows production sheets and avoids over production.
*Read, follow and understands production sheets.
*Deliver/stock supply items in designated areas in an accurate and timely manner.
*Follow time-tables for production and delivery of supplies to meet standards.
*Demonstrate knowledge of inventory items needed.
*Through work, employee maintains kitchen and serving areas in a clean, neat, and orderly manner to exceed both department and TDH sanitation standards.
*Follows “clean as you go”. Follows proper hand hygiene.
*Work in all areas of production for learning and competency in food preparation, grill cooking, sanitation, and quality standards. Understands how to read and prepare simple recipes to department standards.
*Demonstrate ability to operate and grill foods.
*Demonstrate proper sanitation in areas worked and understanding of sanitation codes.
*Labels and dates foods according to HACCP standards.
*Understands HACCP sanitation guidelines and follow for safe food handling. Knows and performs proper procedure for taking and recording temperatures of food items, both raw and cooked and refrigerated units.
*Demonstrates and performs procedures when temperatures are inadequate according to standards.
*Understands the FIFO system of food production.
*Follows OSHA safety guidelines and safe
*Performs other job duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.
