Texas Health Resources Program Director of Capital Equipment Planning in Arlington, Texas

Five (5) years capital/construction equipment planning.
Understanding of project design/construction processes, documents and terminology, knowledge of clinical equipment technical requirements and specifications, understanding of contract and purchase agreement language. Experience with
Excel spreadsheets and Access database.
1.Responsible for the systematic development, implementation and coordination of specific project equipment planning teams (including entity administration, physicians and staff at all levels, equipment consultants, clinical engineering etc.) and equipment planning processes related to specific new construction projects at entities across THR, as assigned.
2.Manages equipment planning processes for multiple assigned entity capital construction and renovation projects, as well as Imaging Centers, Ambulatory Surgery Centers and other projects in the growing non-acute care market. Works with entity administration, physicians and staff at all levels to select & specify appropriate required equipment based upon the project scope and strategic requirements while also driving the implementation of approved THR equipment & technology standards. Works directly with equipment consulting firms, architects & contractors to coordinate equipment technical specifications are identified for design/build.
3.Provides data and assists the Facilities Development Project Manager with the development of appropriate project equipment budgets. Manages approved project equipment budget to assure that planned and procured equipment costs are in line with available funding. Provides reports for entity Finance and other administrative personnel, as required, regarding project equipment budget status.
4.Negotiates directly with manufacturers/distributors regarding specific, detailed pricing for major project capital equipment purchases. Works in coordination with the entity Capital Equipment Specialists to assure compliance with THR equipment standards and purchasing contracts, as well as pricing validation activities and the negotiation of additional pricing discounts on behalf of THR. Communicates directly with all levels within the hospitals and corporate offices regarding project equipment procurement activities
5.Interacts with Facilities Development Project Manager, equipment consultants, project architect and project contractor, as necessary, during the construction process to assure appropriate communication & coordination regarding project equipment specifications and installation requirements. Works on jobsite to coordinate equipment installation, move-in and other equipment related building load activities.
6.Works closely with entity Materials Managers and clinical staff regarding capital equipment selection and procurement processes, May recommend course of action based on data gathered & interpreted. Functions as capital buyer, processes purchase orders for capital equipment purchases, as needed.
