Texas Health Resources Certified Surgical Tech Variable Shifts in Bedford, Texas

Qualifications/Duties:

Texas Health HEB is seeking a CST to work fulltime, variable shifts in the Surgery Department

40 hours per week

Variable shifts and hours (Primarily dayshift), Night and Weekend call required.

Minimum Education Required:

Graduate of an accredited surgery technology program, Vocational Nurse Program or graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology

Minimum Experience Requirements:

1 Year current CST experience within a hospital operating room or surgical center preferred.

One year of Peri-operative experience in hospital setting preferred.

Minimum Licensure/Certification:

CST - Certified Surgical Technologist graduate of an accredited surgical tech program Upon Hire

Or

CST - Certified Surgical Technologist graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology within 2 Years

Or

LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse Upon Hire

And

BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support

Minimum Skill Requirements:

A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment; knowledge of surgical technology.

In collaboration with the RN, assists with the nursing process which includes assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of all patients, including:

-Provides care according to standards of care

-Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to improve care processes that promote continuity of care.

-Performs technical procedures safely, proficiently, and within scope of practice.

-Documents accurately, completely and legibly.

-Takes action to reduce/eliminate patient risks.

-Adapts care measures to reflect age specific and developmental considerations.

-Recognizes and communicates ethical and legal concerns through established channels of communication.

-Perform other duties assigned.
