Texas Health Resources seeks to hire a Chaplain PRN to work as needed for their Pastoral Care Department at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford.
Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford is located at 1600 Hospital Parkway, Bedford, TX 76022.
Salary rate is $22.37/hour – PRN Rate
PRN - As needed
Primary hours will be 5:00 PM – 8:00 AM including weekends and holidays
Requires the ability to arrive at Texas Health HEB within 30 minutes of being called in
The PRN Chaplain role is designed to support Texas Health departments of Pastoral Care provide 24/7 support to patients, guests, and staff. PRNs are usually scheduled for evening and weekend shifts and to fill occasional staffing gaps.
Provide pastoral and spiritual care to patients, guests, and staff when needs arise, primarily after weekday work hours and on the weekend.
Respond to referrals for patient care, assess spiritual resources and vulnerabilities, provide pastoral interventions, and professionally document care in the patient medical record as part of the interdisciplinary team care. Provide hand-off to Pastoral Care team members as
Provide on-call report when called into hospital; complete quarterly Check-Ins; report payroll exceptions promptly.
Ability to respond to call-ins within 10 minutes and arrive within 30 minutes.
Complete required Employee Health requirements and MyTalent modules in a timely manner. Adhere to all HIPAA rules and regulations. Familiar and adherence to all safety standards.
Attend meetings when scheduled and stay up to date on hospital standards and processes. PRNs are encouraged to attend entity Attending Clergy Association meetings, if applicable, or other community-clergy gatherings.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree required
Master of Divinity, Theology, or related degree from an accredited theological school preferred
One unit of CPE from an ACPE Accredited Center required
Two years’ experience in congregational or hospital setting preferred
Good communication skills, both written and oral. Competency in basic computer use and electronic communication tools, e.g., email, calendar.
Ability to work with and relate to people of all faith traditions and cultural backgrounds.
Ability to offer non-anxious presence and work with people during a time of crisis and bereavement, offering compassionate care.
Proficiently document patient care in the medical record within one year of employment, and demonstrate this proficiency.
Ability to offer religious and spiritual rituals as requested by patients and/or staff. When appropriate, ability to refer to outside clergy to meet patient sacramental or religious rites needs.
