Texas Health Resources Charge Auditor Specialist in Bedford, Texas

Texas Health HEB seeks to hire a Charge Auditor Specialist to work a Full-Time position.

Work Schedule

• Day Shift; 40 hours (Full Time)

• Monday – Friday day shift 8:00-4:30, and potential of working from home after training.

Job Description

• Performs audits of patient charge sheet and medical records to ensure accuracy of charges and assures accuracy of charges. Based on reconciliation makes corrections when appropriate.

• Available to assist with request for internal/external auditors to clarify charging methodologies.

• Works closely with Medical Management; THR's Corporate Compliance; THR's Central Business Office and entity Finance to verify/correct patient charges.

• Responsible for staff education on charging, implementing changes, new information needed in documentation and problem trends. Reeducates nurses if inaccuracies occur. Reports uncorrected charging errors and trends to ED Nurse Manager/Director. Responsible for orienting new staff and RN contract staff on the charging process.

• Completes audit worksheets and prepares necessary forms which reflect any patient charges adjustments.

Associate's Degree business or healthcare preferred Req Or

Bachelor's Degree business or healthcare preferred Pref


3 Years charge auditing experience Req


Requires extensive knowledge of medical care in a nursing department. Excellent communication and problem solving skills; documentation, training and customer service skills. Ability to work well with staff and other THR departments. Extensive knowledge of Managed Care, HMO, Worker?��s Compensation, federal or insurance guidelines requirements. Ability to prioritize work.
