Texas Health Resources Registered Nurse (RN) Lactation Consultant - PRN in Bedford, Texas

Registered Nurse (RN) – PRN – Lactation Consultant Unit for Texas Health HEB

Work location: Texas Health HEB, 1600 Hospital Parkway Bedford, TX 76022

Work hours: PRN Level III/per diem, Day Shift 7a – 7p; minimum requirement: 6 shift/per 6-week schedule, 2 weekend shift/per 6-week schedule, 1 major/2 minor holiday requirement

Lactation Department highlights:

  • Work environment: The Siratt Women's Center at Texas Health Hurst Euless Bedford (HEB) Hospital has a full-time opportunity for an experienced Labor and Delivery (L&D) RN.

  • Work hours: Full-time, Day shift, 3/12 hour shifts a week, 6:45 am – 7:15 pm -Self-scheduling

  • 16 bed NICU, 9 bed L&D unit and 4 bed OB ED, 3 OR suites unit with an average of 200 deliveries a month

  • Level II NICU

  • Maternal Designation III

Here’s What You Need

  • Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred

  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire required

  • BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required

  • ACLS – within 90 days required

  • IBCLC – upon hire

  • 1-year experience as a clinical nurse required

  • Current Lactation experience strongly preferred

What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

  • Assesses the patient

  • Plans the care of the patient

  • Intervenes as appropriate

  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.

  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information

  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
