Texas Health Harris Methodist HEB Hospital is currently in search of an experienced Registered Nurse to help meet the needs of our patients to work part-time in Labor & Delivery.

Labor & Delivery: 9 LDR's
3 OR suites
2 bed holding area
Average between 160-220 deliveries per month
Qualified candidates for the part-time experienced Labor & Delivery RN position will possess the following:
- Required minimum education:
BSN preferred. RNs hired after January 2017
require completion of BSN within 2
years of start date.
Required minimum experience:
One (1) year of experience as a clinical nurse or completion of an RN residency program.
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire.
Current BLS and ACLS upon hire.
Introductory AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring within 30 days of hire
Required skills (if applicable):
A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
Critical thinking skills.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred or in school for completion
One (1) to five (5) years of recent RN experience in Labor & Delivery.
Skills: Triage, labor, deliver, circulate, and recover patients
Part-time: 6:30 AM-6:30 PM, (2) 12-hour shifts/week with rotating schedule, some weekends and holidays. Variable schedule; flexibility is a must! (2) 12 hour on call shifts required per 6 weeks.
The selected candidate will join a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals, providing safe and quality care.
Working well with other team members to resolve patient concerns is essential.
Additional responsibilities include, evaluate the patient’s progress toward attainment of outcomes. Revising the plan as indicated per policy.
Age-Specific care provided that promotes optimal recovery.
Strong knowledge base of disease process/surgery, and post-op care.
Delegate procedures as appropriate to the licensure/registration, education and experience of team members.
Follow and accept scheduling guidelines. Complete safety checklists/quality controls as required
