Surgical Associate – GREAT BENEFITS, Surgery Department

Position Highlights

  • Work location: Bedford

  • Work environment: Surgery Department

  • Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours weekly, 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM, rotating weekend and call required

  • Salary range: $15.00 - $18.56 per hour (based on relevant experience)

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)

  • Previous patient care experience (preferred)

  • OR experience (highly preferred)

  • Previous EVS experience (preferred)

Position Responsibilities Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford Surgical Associates are responsible for a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, acceptable grooming practices and ability to function in a fast paced, changing environment.

In addition to the required qualifications, a successful Surgical Associate will

  • complete routine stocking chores

  • assist in moving patients to and from the operating room suites

  • assists in room cleanup before and/or after surgery

  • follows directions of circulating nurse in obtaining equipment, instruments and supplies as requested

  • answers calls from Surgery Control Desk without delay

  • read, write and speak English; able to stand/walk for majority of hours of their work shift; easily move heavy equipment & supplies (up to 250 lbs on wheels) without endangering themselves or others.
