Qualifications/Duties:

Texas Health Physicians Group (THPG) seeks to hire a Lead Coder .

LOCATION OF THIS POSITION:

9229 LBJ Freeway

Dallas, TX

WORKS SCHEDULE / HOURS:

40 hours weekly, Monday- Friday,

8:00 am to 5:00 pm

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED).

and

(Completion of college level courses in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology)

Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

5+ years coding experience required

Neurology / Neurosurgical or Orthopedic Surgery Coding experience preferred

LICENSE / CERTIFICATION:

American Association of Professional Coders (AAPC):

REQUIRED Upon Hire:

CPC-Certified Professional Coder or and

CCS-P Certified Coding Specialist -Physician - based

OR

Other Specialty Certification Upon Hire Such as:

CCVTC -Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Coder

CEMC -Certified Evaluation and Management Coder

CGSC - General Surgery

COSC - Orthopedic Surgery

CCC - Cardiology

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Extensive understanding of medical cost

Knowledge of third party billing regulations, professional operations, and third party payer requirements.

(Medicare/Medicaid/third party coding & billing regulations, professional operations, and third party payer requirements)

• Ability to communicate effectively;

• Detail oriented with strong oral and written skills;

• Proficient computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office and applicable internal systems;

• Strong worth ethic and high level of professionalism
