Plant Mechanic

We’re looking for qualified Plant Mechanics like you to join our Texas Health family.

  • Work environment: System Engineering

  • Work hours: Full-Time; Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm Alternating Weekends.

  • Salary range: $22.37 - $35.11 per hour (based on relevant experience)

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Required and

  • Specialized training in the mechanic trades or a related field desired preferred

  • 3 Years of experience in the maintenance and repair of physical plant equipment and utilities systems required.

  • HVAC, Electrical or Plumbing knowledge and experience preferred.

  • Engineering Degree a plus

  • DL - Drivers License Valid Class C Driver's License Upon Hire Required

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient with computerized systems for all aspects of position including time keeping, work order system, equipment documentation, and energy management systems.

  • Knowledge of methods and techniques of maintaining and repairing plant equipment, machinery, utilities, and facilities.

  • Ability to work effectively unsupervised and in teams.

  • Knowledge of building and electrical codes.

  • Knowledge of HVAC systems and controls.

  • Operational characteristics of maintenance equipment and tools.

  • Good communication skills

Position Responsibilities

Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas Plant Mechanic is responsible for upkeep, repair, and preventative maintenance of the hospital physical plant and utility systems.

Essential Functions

Maintain the efficient operation of the central plant:

  • Identify equipment operational and maintenance needs

  • Implement preventive maintenance program for plant equipment, machinery and related facilities

  • Record mechanical equipment readings and ensure accuracy of records kept

  • Maintain plant safety features

Perform routine mechanical, electrical, or machining maintenance activities on equipment including lubrication, inspection, replacement of parts, and related plant work activities.

Utilize the CMMS to keep accurate computerized records of activities, time, and materials required; keeps accurate reports of equipment maintenance and performance.

Participate in hospital and departmental safety program, educational opportunities, and job specific training.

Completes other duties as assigned.
