Texas Health Resources Registered Nurse (RN)—ECMO Specialist --PRN in Dallas, Texas

We are building a new ECMO department to better serve our communities and are looking for the right person to help us build the best! Come join our Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Team at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, a MAGNET facility!

SCHEDULE: PRN As needed. Weekend and holiday requirements

This role is an exciting opportunity to help develop a new ECMO unit. The ECMO unit will be a part of our already established, Level I Trauma CVICU. The CVICU is a 24-bed intensive care unit that specializes in advanced Cardiac and Vascular surgical procedures. Our ICU units are located in the Hamon Tower, the largest expansion in the hospital’s history, which opened in 2009. Our board-certified critical care physicians directly oversee patient care in the ICU throughout the day. Providers are on the unit 24 hours a day. Critical care nurses, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants — all trained in critical care medicine — work collaboratively to provide care in the ICU. The staffing is dependent by acuity, normally a 2:1 ratio

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

EDUCATION:

• Associate Degree of Nursing, required

• BSN Preferred

EXPERIENCE:

• 2 years of Critical Care Experience required (MICU, CICU, CCU, TICU, etc.)

• ECMO experience preferred

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS:

• RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required

• BLS--Basic Cardiac Life Support—Prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly

• ACLS—Advanced Cardiac Life Support—within 90 days of hire required

• Completion of ECMO Training within 90 days of hire required

SKILLS:

• Effective critical thinking, decision making, interpersonal, verbal communication, and collaborative skills

• ECMO Training will be required
