Texas Health Resources Research Associate - Cardiopulmonary Lab in Dallas, Texas
Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas is seeking a Research Associate in the Institute for Exercise and Environmental Medicine (IEEM) department to work full time in the Cardiopulmonary Lab working on multiple NIH-funded projects including his Childhood Obesity Project and Program Project evaluating patients with Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction (HFpEF).
Institute of Exercise Environmental Medicine is located at 7232 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75231.
Salary range is Minimum $17.31/hr. to Maximum $28.40/hr. – based on relevant experience
Full Time; 40 hours
Monday – Friday; 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Flexible at times based on protocol windows and patient scheduling. May have early or late days depending on protocol needs
Research Coordination: Under the direction of the senior research associate or research project investigator coordinate subject or patient participation as outlined in protocol and assist with research projects as assigned.
Equipment Maintenance: Constructs, assembles, and operates experimental or specially designed laboratory equipment using specialized knowledge
Program Development: Under the direction of leadership coordinate and assist with research program development activities.
Oversight of Students and Visitors: Responsible for orientation and education of students and visitors to IEEM ensuring compliance with department, entity and system policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology, Human Physiology, Kinesiology, or other science related discipline required
Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology or Kinesiology strongly preferred
Previous experience working on or completion of a human physiology research project including data analysis preferred
Experience conducting exercise testing, VO2 Max testing, and/or worked in an exercise physiology lab in their Master's Degree or undergrad program preferred
Licenses and Certifications:
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of hire
Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated verbal and written ability to communicate effectively and professionally across disciplines
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Must demonstrate strong customer service skills
Ability to accomplish results and achieve organization outcomes and goals
Good organizational and project management skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Basic word processing, database, graphics, and spreadsheet applications skills
Basic knowledge of research methodology preferred
