Texas Health Resources VP Strategic Growth SWHR CIN in Dallas, Texas

Southwestern Health Resources (SWHR) was formed in 2015 and commenced operations in 2016 by Texas Health Resources (THR) and The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW). SWHR blends the strengths of both THR and UTSW from preventive care to the most advanced interventions to better serve North Texas residents. The integrated network builds on more than 50 years of collaboration between the two institutions to improve the health of North Texans.

Southwestern Health Resources serves as the clinically integrated network supporting over 29 hospital locations and more than 4,800 physicians located throughout North Texas in its network. With over 650 points of access to care, this provides for higher value and allows patients to access services across a full continuum of medical needs. The network serves people across 16 counties in North Texas. Southwestern Health Resources Clinically Integrated Network (SWHR) coordinates care for more than 700,000 patients, aligned with commercial and Medicare Advantage health care plans and Medicare programs, along with more than 14,000 Medicare beneficiaries enrolled in its Care N’ Care health plan. It also provides Population Health Services through clinical and quality data along with analytic services necessary to support the physician-driven clinical model.

The primary focus of the VP Strategic Growth SWHR CIN is to help SWHR CIN grow its attributed lives by driving new, unique and deeper relationships with carriers, payers, TPAs, brokers, consultants, employers and consumers. 75% percent of time is spent working externally with employers, carriers, payers, brokers, consultants, and vendors. The remaining time is spent on internal issues/opportunities with executives in the contracting, C-suite, and SWHR leadership, clinical, community affairs, operational (facility and physician), IT, marketing and communications departments.

The VP Strategic Growth, SWHR has the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic and tactical plan for growing SWHR covered lives through relationships with employers, TPAs, payors, brokers, consultants, etc.

  • Establish ongoing and vibrant relationships with employers and brokers/consultants

  • Support account executive function for arrangements for which there is a unique SWHR arrangement (e.g., THA-State Farm, City of Fort Worth, UT Connect, etc.)

  • Collaborate with SWHR, THR, and UTSW to ensure development of products and capabilities important and necessary to grow covered lives. For example: employer reinsurance joint product solutions, PCP navigation, occupational health, executive health services, employer clinics, wellness services, etc.

  • Identify and help to vet key vendors that through the development of partnerships may help to grow covered lives.

  • Provide leadership for growing lives in narrow networks (e.g., tiered, dual option, full replacement), bundled products, and THA.

  • Provide leadership for product development with ACO opportunities with large plan sponsors; i.e., attributed and/or product opportunities.

  • Conduct regular meetings to ensure that direct reports and leadership are appraised and updated with status and performance of growth projects.

  • Review and approve departmental budget submissions and submit approved version for executive defense in the corporate budget.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Business Management or Administration required.

  • 7-10 years’ experience in Strategic Growth with the last five years in a managerial position required.

  • Highly preferred to have significant health system or payer system experience .

  • Sales experience including record of achieving sales targets preferred.
