Our Speech Therapy Denton location has initiated a search for a SLP PRN (As Needed).

Work Hours/Schedule: PRN (As Needed) varying shifts with rotating weekends and holidays

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

*Completion of a Master’s Degree in a Speech Language Pathology program accredited by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association Council on Academic Accreditation

SLP - Speech Language Pathology Upon Hire Or

SLP-I - Speech Language Pathology Intern Upon Hire

BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support 60 Days

Preferred Qualifications:

Good verbal and written communication skills in English

Problem solving ability

Ability to teach others

Time management

Good interpersonal and customer service skills

Outpatient and Modified Barium Swallow experience preferred

Work Location/Setting: Acute Care and Outpatient services

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

*Obtain/verify physician order for therapy and validate for appropriateness.

*Review available medical records and obtain pertinent medical history from patient or family. *Ensure that patient has given informed consent to treatment.

*Evaluate each patient using age and diagnosis appropriate assessment tests and measurements.

*Integrate assessment results to identify functional problems and prioritize care needs with patient and family.

*Sets appropriate measurable, functional goals with time frames to address the identified problems including patient/family goals and preferences.

*Determine plan for care, or appropriate therapeutic intervention to achieve stated goals. *Initiate therapy discharge planning in collaboration with care team and patient based on prognosis and expected discharge disposition.

*Demonstrates competence in the performance of age appropriate patient assessment and individualizes care based on age specific needs.
