Texas Health Resources Lab Assistant - THPG - Microbiology in Euless, Texas

Texas Health Physicians Group is seeking a Lab Assistant to work full time in their Microbiology laboratory.

The address is located at 251 W. Parkway, Suite, 212, Euless, TX 76040.

Salary range is Minimum $13.85/hr. to Maximum $21.53/hr. – based on relevant experience

Work Schedule:

  • Full Time; 1 st Shift

  • Day Shift Hours with rotating weekends

Job Description:

Uses limited judgment to assist the Med Techs with sample workflow in a very fast paced, high volume, outpatient reference laboratory.

Essential Functions:

  • Loads laboratory samples onto instrumentation for chemistry, hematology and urinalysis

  • Closely watches instrument consumables and loads reagents/cleaners as needed during the night

  • Stores specimens at the end of the night using SSR

  • Investigates missing specimens during the night

  • Processes/Pull ADD-ON samples

  • Perform CLIA waived testing in accordance with all NPL policies

  • Assists processing department based on volume and staffing needs

  • Other duties as assigned


The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • 1 year Phlebotomist, Specimen Processing and/or Medical Assistant experience in a high volume testing laboratory highly preferred and

  • 1 year Data entry experience preferred

  • 3 years Microbiology lab experience and/or Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology highly preferred


  • Possesses a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism

  • Familiar with basic medical and laboratory terminology

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
