Life Safety Specialist

We’re looking for a qualified Admissions Specialist like you to join our Texas Health family .

Position Highlights

  • Work location: Texas Health Harris Methodist Fort Worth 1301 Pennsylvania Ave Fort Worth, TX 76104

  • Work hours: Full-Time; 40 hours, M-F 8am-5pm (hours may be required outside of normal work schedule as needed)

Coordinates plans to promote compliance with The Joint Commission standards including but not limited to Environment of Care and Life Safety. Primary responsibility for the oversight and management of The Joint Commission Life Safety Chapter and fire safety elements of performance within the Environment of Care chapter. 25%

Maintains documents, policies and procedures to demonstrate implementation of applicable laws and regulations including but not limited to The Joint Commission, the National Fire Protection Association, International Fire Code, International Building Code, OSHA, EPA, TDH-DSHS, etc. 25%

Prepares, develops and maintains reports and procedures related but not limited to TJC's Life Safety chapter, Fire Safety - fire drills/events, entity's Fire Safety Subcommittee and Construction (ILSM assessments and implementations). 25%

Maintains knowledge of general and hospital-specifc safety regulations and standards and assists stakeholders in enforcing such. May assume role of acting Safety Officer during Safety Officer's absence. 25%

Education

H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Req

Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP), Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional (CHEP) & National Incident Management System (NIMS) ICS Courses - 100, 200, 700, 800. (To be acquired within 90 days of employment or upon initial hire)

Experience

3 Years direct experience in safety management/coordination Req and

3 Years healthcare setting Pref

  • Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP), Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional (CHEP)

  • National Incident Management System (NIMS) ICS Courses - 100, 200, 700, 800.

  • To be acquired within 90 days of employment or upon initial hire.

Skills

Ability to give instruction and clearly explain problems and solutions; strong customer service and problem resolution skills; excellent verbal and written communicaiton and interpersonal skills; basic computer competency to include knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel; proven capability to work independently
