At Texas Health Neighborhood Care and Wellness – Burleson, we take seriously our mission to improve the health of those in our community. We are an Integrated Healthcare Center (IHC) providing convenient Outpatient and Emergency care services to Burleson and the surrounding communities since 2010.

Our Burleson facility is licensed as a sub-site of Texas Health Fort Worth. The Imaging Department provides Ultrasound, Diagnostic, CT, MRI and Mammography to both Outpatients and Emergency Room patients of all ages.

Education

Other Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology Required Or

Associate's Degree Preferred

Other - CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency Required

Experience

1 Year medical imaging experience Required and

1 Year MRI experience Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required And

ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists MR Upon Hire Required Or

ARMRIT - American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists Upon Hire Required Or

ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R Upon Hire Required Or

ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists CT Upon Hire Required Or

ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists N Upon Hire Required Or

NMTCB - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board CNMT Upon Hire Required And

CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist if ARRT(R), (CT), (N) or CNMT Upon Hire Required And

ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists MR if ARRT(R), (CT), (N) or CNMT 12 Months Required Or

ARMRIT - American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists if ARRT(R), (CT), (N) or CNMT 12 Months Required

Position Responsibilities

Imaging Procedures, Quality and Processing

  1. Explains procedures to patient or guardian / family member if applicable prior to exam

  2. Positions patient to correct anatomical area of interest

  3. Performs complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations

  4. Adjusts technique parameters appropriately for age related factors

  5. Assists radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique

  6. Maintains attention to details

  7. Processes and manipulates images, analyzes image quality, troubleshoots, makes technique adjustments or repeat procedures as needed 8. Utilizes proper downtime procedures for PACS and HIS / RIS

  8. Correctly sends and transfers images to PACS

  9. Prints laser images from modality or PACS

  10. Coordinates with Centralized Scheduling and other modalities

Patient Care

  1. Uses multidisciplinary, team oriented actions

  2. Assesses and recognizes the patient?��s emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive and psychosocial conditions

  3. Prepares room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies)

  4. Checks physician orders and exam requisitions using time-out procedures

  5. Greets and acknowledges patient, using two forms of ID

  6. Obtains patient history

  7. Handles patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes or other devices, and monitor patient during imaging

  8. Demonstrates knowledge of emergency drugs and equipment

  9. Uses proper body mechanics when assisting patient

  10. Administers contrast media and other medications in accordance with medication administration guidelines

  11. Processes patient information, displays proper phone etiquette and transports patients as needed

  12. Communicates respectfully with co-workers and other departments

Equipment Operation and Maintenance

  1. Adjusts technical factors

  2. Operates, cares for and maintains equipment

  3. Applies knowledge of physics and accessories

  4. Troubleshoots and properly documents equipment malfunction

  5. Maintains equipment and room to sanitary standards between patients (injectors, table tops, floors)

  6. Stocks supplies daily

  7. Exchanges and maintenance of film badges within designated time frames

  8. Demonstrates the knowledge and understanding of quality control and regulatory standards

  9. Productive during periods of decreased work flow

Professional Accountability and Partnership

  1. Maintains and enhances technical skills and technology advancement

  2. Attends departmental continuing education, meetings, and checks email in a timely manner

  3. Identifies, troubleshoots and initiates quality improvement

  4. Manages time and re-prioritizes as necessary

  5. Performs any assignment deemed necessary by supervisor
