Texas Health Resources Registered Nurse RN Medical PCU in Fort Worth, Texas

Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical PCU – Full-time, 7A - Sign on Bonus for eligible New Hires!

High acuity Medical PCU department is looking for top skilled nurses. Is that you?

Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1304 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104

Work hours: Full-time, 36 hours weekly, 3-12 hours shifts, 7:00 am – 7:00 pm

Sign-on bonus for eligible RN’s (eligible upon hire with a signed 2-year retention agreement)

Department highlights:

  • 28-bed Medical PCU, Nurse: Patient ratio 1:3

  • Intermediate level of care to a wide variety of medical and surgical patients at a 4:1 patient to nurse ratio. This patient population includes patient diagnosis such as arrhythmia's, myocardial infarctions, congestive heart failure, stroke, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), EKOS (extremities), and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Here’s What You Need

  • Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred

  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire

  • BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly

  • ACLS – within 90 days of hire required

  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 60 days of hire

  • 1-year experience as a clinical nurse or completion of an RN residency program required

  • PCU experience preferred – will consider Tele experience

  • RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care

  • The professional nurse exhibits understanding of basic human needs.

  • The professional nurse demonstrates recognition and understanding of patient’s affiliations

In addition to the required qualifications, a successful RN will

  • demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

  • maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients

  • possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism

  • have basic computer skills using medical management application systems

What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

• assesses the patient

• plans the care of the patient

• intervenes as appropriate

• evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.

• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information

• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
