Work environment: Women’s Care
Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours weekly, Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Texas Health Physicians Group (THPG) is a not-for-profit physician organization with more than 250 locations and 800 physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants dedicated to providing quality care in clinics and medical offices throughout North Texas.
High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
Two years of related experience in healthcare environment (preferred)
Position Responsibilities THPG Surgery Scheduling Specialist schedules all inpatient and outpatient surgery and medical procedures, tests and studies ordered by the physician. Coordinates, registers and schedule appointments for patients according to availability, conducts physician pre-certification to ensure coverage for appointments and medical care, ensures all required tests needed prior to surgery are done, coordinates and ensures necessary equipment is ordered, room availability/scheduled, pre-surgery medication, etc., is arranged prior to scheduled procedure, schedules any necessary follow-up appointments, communicates and answers patients’ questions regarding surgery preparation instructions, arrival/departure instructions relative to procedure, and performs other duties as assigned.
