Texas Health Resources Technician Therapy SR - PT in Fort Worth, Texas

Rehab Tech (PRN) – As needed

  • Work environment: Inpatient Hospital/Acute Care

  • Work hours: PRN, As needed; weekends (Sat 7:00am – 3:00pm and Sunday 8:00am - 2:00 pm) with occasional weekdays 8:00am – 4:00pm

  • Salary range: $16.18 - $24.43 per hour (based on relevant experience)

Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth is a 726-bed, Magnet-designated regional referral center that has served the residents of Tarrant County and surroundings communities since 1930. Hospital services include cardiovascular care, high-risk obstetrics, gynecology, orthopedics and sports medicine, neonatal intensive care, and trauma/emergency medicine. In early 2014, Texas Health Fort Worth will be opening a new 75,000 square foot Emergency Services Center, one of the largest in the region. Texas Health Fort Worth has more than 4,000 employees, 200 volunteers and nearly 1,000 physicians on its medical staff. Texas Health Fort Worth recently received national recognition for its oncology program and was named “Best Place to Have a Baby” in Tarrant County. Qualifications - External

  • HS Diploma with 2 years Rehab tech experience (required) or

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (required)

  • 2 years Rehab Tech experience without health-related bachelor’s degree (required) or

  • No experience required with health related bachelor’s degree

  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care (required)

Position Responsibilities Texas Health Rehab Tech are responsible for preparing patient for treatment using appropriate draping and positioning, transporting patients to and from treatments using good body mechanics and stretcher/wheelchair safety. Assisting with functional mobility training, gait training, exercise programs and ADL training as specified by therapist.

In addition to the required qualifications, a successful Rehab Tech will:

  • assist therapist in set-up of all equipment necessary to perform assessments and treatments.

  • assist with use of modalities including ultrasound, e-stim, paraffin, fluidotherapy, heat and cold.

  • lead non-patient exercise programs, activities or support groups.

  • complete job duties with limited supervision.

  • assists with the entry of patient charges.

  • complete assigned work within scheduled hours and offers assistance to others to ensure departmental work is accomplished.

  • help maintain all educational material and department forms
