Telemetry Monitor Technician – PRN, As needed

Position Highlights

  • Work location: Texas Health Southwest Fort Worth

  • Work environment: Centralized Tele Monitoring

  • Work hours: PRN, As needed, Day shift; 7:00am to 7:00pm (may include some weekends and holidays)

  • Salary range: $15.23 - $22.74 per hour (based on relevant experience)

Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth is a 222-bed full-service facility that includes surgical and imaging services, a 24-hour emergency department, orthopedics, adult critical care, a Level III neonatal intensive care unit and advanced cardiovascular care and Primary Stroke designation. Texas Health Southwest Fort Worth, which has been serving Tarrant County residents since 1987, has 1,100 employees, 120 volunteers, and more than 600 physicians on its medical staff. The hospital is a Magnet-designated, a designated UnitedHealth Premium Surgical Spine specialty center and has earned Quality Respiratory Care Recognition from the AARC.   • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)

  • One year of direct patient care experience involving telemetry monitoring or completion of educational program which includes telemetry monitoring (required)

  • Completion of Telemetry/EKG test within 30 days (required)

Position Responsibilities Texas Health Telemetry Monitor Technicians require a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, acceptable grooming practices, and ability to function in a fast paced, changing environment.

In addition to the required qualifications, a successful Telemetry Monitor Technician will

  • demonstrate competency in the set up and use of the telemetry monitoring equipment.

  • collect, report and document patient information (rhythms/rate) timely and accurately.

  • distinguish and report abnormalities and initiates action to provide continuity of care.

  • ensure admission/dismissals are processed promptly; preparations are made to get the monitor ready for admission.

  • communicate promptly of perceived risks specific to patient safety or immediate need for assistance.

  • assist with documentation that supports and meets hospital and regulatory requirements
