Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to Surgical Tech Trainee
Fast-paced, high volume Surgery department is looking for top skilled LVN’s to transition to Surgical Tech Trainees. Is that you?
Work location: Texas Health Frisco, 12400 Dallas Pkwy, Frisco, TX 75033
Training Start Date: March 6, 2023.
Training Hours: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
After Training Hours: Full Time; Variable shifts; weekend, holiday, and call requirements.
Surgery Department highlights:
8 Main OR suites with 2 Robots
A range of specialty surgical services provided including Bariatric, Colorectal, Ophthalmology, ENT, Spine, Orthopedics, Urology, Gynecology, Plastics, as well as General Surgery.

Here’s What You Need
1 year of current operating room experience Preferred
CST - Certified Surgical Technologist graduate of an accredited surgical tech program Upon Hire Req Or
CST - Certified Surgical Technologist graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology 2 Years Req Or
LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse Upon Hire Req And
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Req
What You Will Do
Upon successful completion of the training program, the Surgical Tech Trainee will transition into a Certified Surgical Tech to:
Assesses the patient
Plans the care of the patient
Intervene as appropriate
Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions
Incorporate age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiate action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
Maintain continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
