Position Highlights

  • Work location: 3600 FM 2181 Suite 100 Hickory Creek, TX 75065

  • Work environment: Family Care

  • Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours weekly, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM

  • Salary range: $17.10 - $24.86 per hour (based on relevant experience)

  • $1,000 sign-on bonus for eligible CMAs (eligible upon hire with a signed retention agreement)

Texas Health Physicians Group (THPG) is a not-for-profit physician organization with more than 250 locations and 800 physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants dedicated to providing quality care in clinics and medical offices throughout North Texas.

Qualifications

  • 4 years of medical assistant experience (required)

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)

  • Current Medical Assistant Certification (required)

  • ACLS or BLS (preferred)

Position Responsibilities THPG Lead Certified Medical Assistants are responsible for the delivery of patient care that promotes the safety and well-being of all patients, demonstrating excellent customer service while rooming patients, obtaining chief complaint and vitals, handling of specimens, charting visit information and performing injections as needed. You may also be responsible for some administrative tasks on an as-needed basis.

In addition to the required qualifications, a successful Lead CMA will

  • Directs and guides back office staff in monitoring and expediting workflow

  • Handles medical supply inventory, orders, and cost control

  • Performs general patient care by following established standards and procedures

  • Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider

  • Obtains and records vital signs and other appropriate information. Administers ordered medications via oral, topical, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration

  • May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis

  • Schedules patients for diagnostic testing and follows up to ensure completion of testing

  • Prepares, cleans and sterilizes instruments and maintains equipment, disposing of contaminated items according to protocol. Keeps patient exam rooms clean and orderly.

  • Communicates with patients regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by physician.

  • Formulates and documents patient care plans, charts, tests and examination results in the medical record

  • Works with the Healthcare Provider to facilitate training of new hires and other training initiatives

  • May work in the front office as needed, as well as perform other duties as assigned by practice manager, more senior staff, or as requested by healthcare provider(s).
