Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical/Tele – Full Time - Days - Great Learning Opportunities and Great Benefits!

Position Highlights

Work location: Texas Health Kaufman, P.O. Box 1108, Tx 75142

  • Work environment: – Medical Surgical/Tele – Come join Texas Health Kaufman as a Registered Nurse! As a Registered Nurse you will be working in our 29-34 bed unit for patients in Medical Surgical, Telemetry, Orthopedic and General Surgery. Our unit truly is a family with 18 nurse, 8 PCTS and 4 monitor technicians. As a Registered Nurse at Texas Health Kaufman you have opportunities for shared governance, NCAP, certification bonuses, tuition reimbursement, self-scheduling and much, much more!   • Work hours: Full Time – Days – 36 hr work week

  • Salary range: $27.50 - $52.88

  • Sign on Bonus – 10k (eligible upon hire with a signed retention agreement)

Entity Information: Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Kaufman is a 91-bed acute-care, full-service hospital serving Kaufman and Henderson counties and southern Dallas County since 1979. Hospital services include women’s care, cardiac rehabilitation, wound care and diagnostic and imaging services. Texas Health Kaufman was recently recognized as a Pathway to Excellence® hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is a Level IV Trauma Center. Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Nursing; BSN preferred

  • CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (if necessary)

  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire

  • BCLS – upon hire – expiration date greater than 3 months preferred

  • ACLS –upon hire required.

  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 60 days of hire

  • 1 Year Experience as a clinical nurse or completion of nursing residency

In addition to the required qualifications, a successful RN will

  • Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

  • maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients

  • possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism

  • have basic computer skills using Medical management application systems

Position Responsibilities

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

• assesses the patient

• plans the care of the patient

• intervenes as appropriate

• evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.

• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information

• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
