Position Highlights

  • Work location: 1519 N. Town East Blvd., Suite 100 Mesquite, TX 75150

  • Work environment: Family Care/ Internal medicine

  • Work hours: Full-time, 40 Hours Weekly, Monday – Friday, 7:30am to 5:00p

  • $5,000 sign-on bonus for eligible (eligible upon hire with a signed retention agreement)

Texas Health Physicians Group (THPG) is a not-for-profit physician organization with more than 250 locations and 800 physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants dedicated to providing quality care in clinics and medical offices throughout North Texas.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of approved NCT training program (Required)

  • Associates degree in Radiologic Technology (Preferred)

  • 6 months relevant work experience NCT (Required)

  • 1 year Medical Assistant experience (Required)

  • NCT registered by the Texas Medical Board (Required)

  • CMA upon hire (Required)

Position Responsibilities Under close supervision, responsible for operating X-ray and fluoroscopic equipment that assists radiologists and/or physicians with diagnosing and/or treating disease and/or injury.

In addition to the required qualifications

  • Prepares patients for radiologic procedures and protects patients, self and other staff from radiation hazards Thorough knowledge of the meaning and use of medical terminology and abbreviations.

  • Takes X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety, which involves setting up and operating radiographic equipment used in the medical diagnosis and/or treatment of patients.

  • Selects proper ionizing factors for radiological diagnosis and adjusts and sets radiologic controls.

  • Performs quantity and quality control checks to assure X-ray unit meets standards required by laws, rules and department policies. Cleans, maintains and makes minor adjustments to radiographic equipment, including determining equipment repairs

  • Performs general patient care by following established standards and procedures.

  • Obtains and records vital signs including, but not limited to: blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem.

  • Administers ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topical, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration.

  • Communicates with patient regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by physician.

  • Escalates non-routine issues, questions and/or concerns to the practice manager or healthcare provider(s).

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
