We’re looking for a qualified Cardiac & Stress Monitor Technician like you to join our Texas Health Heart and Vascular Specialists of North Texas.

Position Highlights

  • Work location: 6300 West Parker Road, Suite 322, Plano, TX 75093

  • Work environment: Heart and Vascular Specialists

  • Work hours: Full-time, Monday thru Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm

  • Salary range: $15.32 - $23.96 per hour (based on relevant experience)

Texas Health Physicians Group (THPG) is a not-for-profit physician organization with more than 250 locations and 800 physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants dedicated to providing quality care in clinics and medical offices throughout North Texas.


  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required) AND

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with 2 years’ experience Monitoring Cardiac Stress Testing (required) OR

  • Associate degree in Exercise Physiology or relevant Healthcare field (required) OR

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology or relevant Healthcare field (preferred)

  • 6 months experience in Cardiac and/or Stress Testing Environment (preferred)

  • ACLS or BCLS (preferred)

Position Responsibilities THPG Cardiac & Stress Monitor Technician will monitor patients at rest, stress and recovery on EKG and take and record blood pressures as directed. Conduct treadmill tests, including patient preparation, test performance, and patient recovery. Perform Holter scans, signal average electrocardiograms (ECGs), may scan Holter acquisitions and review data to identify abnormalities. Schedules patients for diagnostic testing and follows up to ensure completion of testing. Prepares reports of test results for interpretation by the physician. Ensures correct lead placement and operates stress testing equipment, including entry of applicable patient data. Prepares testing rooms and maintains daily cleaning list. Collects time of service payments. Escalates non-routine issues to the practice manager or physician. Communicates with physicians, managers, and co-workers as appropriate about changes in patient's clinical conditions while undergoing or after echocardiogram/stress testing. Performs other duties as assigned by practice manager or physician.

In addition to the required qualifications, a successful Cardiac & Stress Monitor Technician will

  • have basic knowledge EKGs and stress testing

  • must possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism

  • have the ability to effectively communicate to staff and patients

  • demonstrates sound judgment and composure with the ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations

  • maintains a positive, caring attitude towards patients

  • have good computer skills using a medical management application
