Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PRN) – As needed, Inpatient only

Position Highlights

  • Work location: is 411 Belknap St, Stephenville TX 76401

  • Work environment: PT/OT/ST Outpatient Inpatient Hospital Services

  • Work hours: PRN, As needed, Monday through Friday; 8:00am to 5:00pm

  • Salary range: $25.36 - $38.71 per hour (based on relevant experience)

Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Stephenville has a long history of providing quality care to the residents of Erath County and surrounding areas. As a designated Level IV Trauma Center, we offer a wide range of emergency services. The hospital has also been nationally recognized as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology, giving patients access to advances in technology and treatment. Our cardiovascular rehabilitation program focuses on treating cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases through education, prevention, rehabilitation and disease management.

  • Associate Degree or completion of a Therapist Assistant program (required)

  • Previous inpatient experience (preferred)

  • PTA - Texas Physical Therapist Assistant License (required)

  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care (required)

Position Responsibilities Texas Health Licensed Physical Therapy Assistants are responsible for obtaining/verifying physician order for therapy and validating for appropriateness. Reviewing available medical records and obtaining pertinent medical history from therapist documentation and patient report. Ensuring that patient has given informed consent to treatment.

In addition to the required qualifications, a successful Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant will

  • identify problems that need further assessment by therapist and possible change to treatment plan.

  • demonstrate competence in the performance of age appropriate patient assessment and individualizes care based on age specific needs.

  • identify patient accomplishment of goals and report to therapist what goals need to be updated or revised therapy.

  • participate in discharge planning for patient.

  • use therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.

  • educate patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self management and assistive equipment.
